Project: Scaling up the VCT @ Work Initiative in Mozambique
Beneficiary: ILO (via Flanders - ILO Trustfund)
Amount: 187.364 euro
Duration: February 2017 – Fbruary 2019
There has been a lot of progress worldwide in combating HIV / AIDS, but discrepancies remain. For example, 19 million of the 35 million people living with HIV are not aware of his or her status, this is especially true in sub-Saharan Africa where only 45% are aware of his or her status. Knowledge of one's own status can avoid further contamination and lead the way to appropriate care.
This project examines the underlying causes of the low test rate among young people, aimed at young women and men in the formal and informal economy. The project thus contributes to the reduction of HIV infection among young women and men in Mozambique with the following objectives: 1. Increasing the knowledge about the rights of HIV among young women and men 2. Increased test intake for women and men on the work floor.
