The Government of Flanders appointed Carl Decaluwé as Flemish coordinator of cross-border cooperation between Flanders and Northern France.
The Flemish coordinator is not reimbursed for this project. However, the Province of West Flanders does require a grant from the Government of Flanders to support the position of the Flemish coordinator in the field of staff and logistics.
