On 28 April, Minister-president Bourgeois returned from a four-day trade mission to India. With 55 participating companies, this was the largest Flemish trade mission to date. The Minister-president was very pleased with this mission, which focused on cleantech, smart cities, high tech and fresh food.
The scheduled political contacts being cancelled, was unfortunate, but it didn't affect the success of the trade mission. 150 events, over 1,000 attendees to the organized events, 238 corporate meetings and 8 MoU’s signed: organizer Flanders Investment & Trade is pleased with the results.
Minister-president Bourgeois considers India not only an important trade partner but also as a very interesting one: "It strikes me that Indian and Flemish people share two values: their entrepreneurial spirit and the importance of family businesses. This reduces the pressure of quarterly earnings and creates space for long-term thinking. " A new mission to India in the near future will be well worth it.
