Minister-president Geert Bourgeois started the new year with a mission to Dresden in the German state of Saxony on 10 and 11 January. Minister-president Bourgeois wants to bring the two regions closer together and explore to future cooperation opportunities.
Saxony was just over 4 million people, about the same size as Flanders. And just as in Flanders, the Saxon economy is thriving by focusing on by more advanced technological applications, i.e. the so-called fourth industrial revolution.
Minister-president Bourgeois met his Saxon colleague Stanislaw Tillich. In the presence of some 100 Saxon entrepreneurs, they participated together in a panel discussion on economic cooperation, industry 4.0 and the importance of free trade.
Furthermore the Minister of State for Federal Affairs and Europe, Fritz Jaeckel received the Flemish delegation.
