From 18 to 21 September, a delegation from the Flemish Association for Space and Planning paid a working visit to Vienna. In the delegation, besides architects, also representatives of the Department Environment, the Flemish Land Agency and various local authorities. The Repesentation of Flanders in Vienna helped to put put together the programme.
General Representative Koen Haverbeke organized a meeting with Andreas Trisko, the head of Vienna's Magistratsabteilung für Stadtplanung und -entwicklung. Director Trisko (picture) provided an interesting exposition on the housing market, social policy and other factors that contribute to the fact that Vienna persistently scores very high on the list of most livable cities.
Further on the program were visits to two innovative urban development projects, Seestadt Aspern and Nordbahnviertel, and to the Smart City Agency of the city of Vienna.
